​About the Zoo :

Qalqilya Municipality runs the only zoo in Palestine, which was created in 1986 near the northern entrance of the city, on an area of ​​35 dunums . The Zoo is not only contain the animals and also contains  a city games for children includes all types of children's games and a pool of water especially for children, and there are special places for families ,and also contains a cafeteria to serve visitors .In addition to that it contains the Museum of science , the Museum of Geology  ,Space and Culture. And also contains  a great restaurant  with different kinds of delicious Food .Finally, they established  the Palestinian medical center for wildlife, which is the first in Palestine.



Qalqilia Zoo and the tourism : 

Qalqilia Zoo is an important tourist site in Palestine , and it  has been adopted in Qalqilya as a central garden of the nation by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities . And School trips come to it from all over the country and also visited by large numbers of  48’ Palestinians.



The Zoo  includes so many sections of the animals:

1 - Department of wildlife such as deer and all kinds of  monkeys, ostriches, zebras and others .

2 - Department of predators, like tigers, lions, hyenas, wolves, bears and others .

3 - Department of marine animals such as crocodiles,    hippopotamus and others. 

4 - Department of snakes, like pythons  and others.

5 - Department of birds such as eagles, hawks and others.
